A Bit About Me

Hello! I’m Kristen. I want to see as much of the world as possible, and I’m presently based in West Texas.

I am available for freelance graphic design work. I’m sometimes booked out weeks or months ahead, so please inquire ahead of time if you’d like to get on my schedule. I’m not currently accepting interior design clients.

I studied illustration and printmaking at the Rhode Island School of Design and Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland. I love to draw and make prints, especially silkscreen printing. Since my first real logo design in 2007, I’ve been working as a (mostly) self taught graphic designer for over 15 years, with a focus in branding, print design and packaging design.

I also have experience as an editor and copywriter. I taught Adobe InDesign and Photoshop at a community college while overseeing a publications and art lab. One of my talents is helping clarify a concept, organize ideas, and streamline messages for an audience.

I co-own a home furnishings shop that specializes in eclectic, vintage, industrial, upcycled and custom decor. You can find my shop at foundmidland.com, or in person at our storefront in Midland, Texas.

I’m passionate about supporting small local businesses & creatives, which is why I started the Instagram page @smallmidland to help connect my local area with small businesses in our community.

I have moved around a few times in my life. In 2012, I returned to West Texas with my husband Sam after a year of work and travel in New Zealand and Australia. We spend most of our time with our family, businesses, and creative/homesteading projects these days.

I’m a hobbies and skills collector. If I could, I would master jewelry making, sculpture, glass blowing, painting, textiles, & photography.

I’ve worked on projects for clients all over the world, from West Texas to Tonga.

Through our work at Found Furnishings, my mother and I have been lucky enough to connect with an amazing community in West Texas.

Thank you to the Scout Guide for showcasing our shop so well.
